The Making of Prometheus

A behind-the-scenes on one of my light-painting work, titled Prometheus.

The sculpture, titled "An Enclosure For A Swing" by artist Kevin Lim Fun Kit, is set in a landscape which celebrates movement with its meandering waterways and has been designed as an observatory in which park visitors can share a rare intimacy with Nature. The undulating steel ribbons imbue a sense of movement by outlining the intangible space created by the motion of a swing while a non-moveable swing seat inside the sculpture cavity allows you a restful moment to observe and contemplate the wonders of Nature.

In this BTS video, I hope to inspire more people to do night photography especially light-paintings. I chose this subject for the making of this BTS video is because of its location. It is located at the newly developed Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, sitting under a broad sky, on top of a little hill with brick stairs on the sides.

I don't make images out of other artists' work. This is an exception. This video was inspired by the sci-fi movie of the same title by Ridley Scott but I made it in my own artistic expression.

With the addition of Instillation concept, I want to emphasize more on the human movements and activities which plays an important part in shaping the landscape.

Four nocturnes were made of this sculpture and you can view them in this gallery here.
